Important Info: Optional Climb : After the elevator ride to the first observation level of St. Peter's dome, there are 320 steps to reach the summit. This part of the climb is optional and requires a good level of fitness. Accessibility : This tour is not recommended for pregnant women, those with significant mobility limitations, or anyone suffering from claustrophobia due to the narrow passageways within the dome. The tour is not wheelchair accessible. Possible Closures : St. Peter's Basilica may close for Vatican events. If this occurs, we will promptly reschedule your visit. Alternative Plans : If the underground is closed, we will extend our exploration of the Basilica and St. Peter's Square.
