Secret City Trails Faro Walking Tours

Do you like curious city trivia? On this short self-guided walk in Faro you’ll discover which geological feature protected the city from the 1755 earthquake, learn about a surprising annual parade, and spot sculptures (partially) submerged in the sea. Along the way, solve fun location-based riddles to unlock new directions, recommendations and more local stories! This experience was created by Secret City Trails co-founders, Kristina & Wendy.
This playful walk across Faro sharpens your senses and encourages you to appreciate the most wonderful – and often hidden – details around you. Whether you know Faro or just start exploring here, this experience gives you a perspective on discovery that will inspire your curiosity wherever you go next.

The famous Igreja do Carmo known for its chapel made of the bones and skulls of monks.
The magnificent cobbled streets.
Mysterious statues (sometimes under water!).
A hidden city entrance (through the old wall).

This discovery walk is an educational and fun activity for friends, couples, families with kids, curious locals, visitors, and team building. You can fully enjoy this experience of connecting with the city while staying in your own group.

Experience Instructions :

Start your experience in front of the church on Largo de São Sebastião.
Finish at Praça Dom Marcelino Franco.
We do not meet you at the start location, you will receive all information via email from us.
Play 7 days a week during daylight hours.

• Right after booking, you receive the play link to the City Trail (sent by email from Secret City Trails)
• This trail is available in English and Portuguese
• The link is valid for 90 days, starting on the date you booked the activity for
• Discover the city at your own pace, take as many breaks as you like
• You need internet connection and a little data. You'll play on your browser. No app download is needed.
