Banks Track Akaroa Walking Tours

Over two days and two nights, you complete a 31 km journey that starts and finishes in picturesque Akaroa. Our spectacular 2-Day Hikes Option follows the same route as the 3-Day Classic Walk. This is ideal for fitter and faster hikers who prefer to carry their packs while hiking.
Please note pack cartage is not included in this option.
You will arrive in Akaroa on the evening before your first day walking the track. The date of your arrival/pick up in Akaroa is the date you select when making your booking.
Please arrive at Akaroa’s old post office (80 Rue Lavaud) by 5:30 pm on the date of your booking.Allow 30 minutes to park your car at Mt Vernon Lodge (33 Purple Peak Road) prior to pick up and return by foot to the pick-up location. After the orientation, we will take you to the first hut
You will sleep at Ōnuku and Stony Bay huts, bypassing a night in Flea Bay, hiking sections one and two on the first day and section three on the last day.
You will need a sleeping bag, but pillows and pillow cases are provided.
