Avignon, "city of the
Popes": Seven popes ruled there from 1305 to 1377. Join us for an
evocation of this historic period in the magnificent garden of the Rocher des
Doms. This 3-hectare garden is right in the heart of the city, yet away from the
crowds that visit the Palais des Papes.


The actress will be playing the role of a whimsical lecturer, who has come to
present the matrix of all the Popes, i.e. Papesse Jeanne. This character, a
cross between myth and history, is described in minute detail by famous English
author Lawrence Durrell in his beautiful book about this poetic, spiritual and
sulphurous figure.
